From The Wonderlyst: A LOOK
I’ve been following Mabel Johnson for a while, and have always wanted to own one of her gorgeous pieces. She’s inspired by the quilts of Gees Bend and the colors and shapes of Paul Klee and Milton Avery paintings. Each piece is truly one of a kind.
On May 1st, the Haw Contemporary is presenting MABELMADE, an exhibition of Mabel's Fiber work made throughout her time at the Kansas City Art Institute (she’s a graduating senior). Some of her pieces are inspired by Leon Bakst’s costume design for the ballet “The Firebird”.
Mabel's (@mabelmade_)‘s IG followers get first access to her seasonal drops and you can also email Haw Contemporary to get details and pricing on her displayed work.
I think we will be seeing a lot more of Mabel and her exquisite talent in the future!
