I featured Canvas & Paper in The Wonderlyst #115.
You won’t find this perfect little museum on Instagram. Tucked inside a 1940’s California bungalow in Ojai, Canvas & Paper is a micro-museum devoted to lesser-known 20th-century modernists. The scale is intimate in the best way, with just a few works on view at a time, one on each of the three walls, along with a small sculpture garden. There are no openings, no parties, nothing for sale. It’s simply a quiet, unexpected way to spend time with beautiful art. A gift to the Ojai community from an art-loving resident, it’s open Thursday through Sunday from noon to 5.
Their upcoming new exhibit features Keith Vaughan (1912-1977), a British painter and graphic artist known for his post-war romantic works of male nudes, landscapes, and still lifes. On view from July 2 to August 18.
